Objective:
By the end of this lesson, learners will be able to:

Recognize Key Details Listen for specific information such as time, actions, places, and common vocabulary.
Improve Comprehension Through Context Use tone, pauses, and linking words to make sense of what they hear—even when they don’t understand every word.
Build Vocabulary Through Listening Connect familiar spoken words to visuals or definitions to reinforce meaning.
Follow Everyday Conversations Comprehend and respond to simple conversations in real-life settings like homes, shops, or workplaces.
Respond Accurately to Spoken English Answer comprehension questions and complete sentence-based listening tasks (e.g., fill-in-the-blanks, matching).
Increase Listening Confidence Reduce anxiety when listening to English by practicing in controlled and supportive environments.

🔹 1. Warm-Up Activity (10 minutes)
Objective: Activate prior knowledge and prepare for listening.

🔹 2. Listening Strategy Tips (5 minutes)
Introduce basic tips for effective listening:
Focus on keywords (e.g., names, dates, actions).
Don't worry about understanding every word.
Use the speaker’s tone and pauses to guess meaning.
Listen for linking words: and, but, so, because, then, after that
🔹 3. Listening Practice – Audio 1 (10 minutes)
Audio: A short monologue (1 minute) – “My Daily Routine”(Use a clear, neutral accent. Can be pre-recorded or teacher-read.)
Transcript Preview (Not shown to students):
“Hello! My name is Asha. I wake up at 6 AM. I brush my teeth and take a shower. At 7 AM, I eat breakfast. I go to work at 8 o'clock. I return home at 6 PM and cook dinner.”
Comprehension Questions:

✅ Play twice – once without pause, second time with short pauses for answers.

B: “Yes, they’re next to the bread.”
Task: Answer the following:
What does the customer ask for first?

Where are the eggs?
Play twice – include background grocery noise for realism.

Instructions: Listen again and fill in the missing words:

🔹 7. Listening Game – Sentence Bingo (10 minutes)
Instructions:
Give students bingo sheets with simple sentences.
Play 6-8 short sentences. Students mark the ones they hear.
Sample sentences:
“I go to school at 8 AM.”
“The eggs are in the fridge.”
“He likes apples.”
“She is brushing her teeth.”
“I don’t eat meat.”
Encourages careful listening for full sentences.

Homework: Listen to a short English video (2–3 minutes) and write 5 things you understood (e.g., words, sentences, topics).
